Migration of pharmacists to Australia: the second step

After you learned about the first part of the series on pharmacists’ immigration to Australia, if you have not read it yet, get it from here, and you understood the points system and types of visas available in pharmacists’ immigration to Australia, in addition to the division of the pharmacy profession in Australia. In this part, we will discuss the evaluation of the profession for pharmacists in my field. Retail and hospitals. This assessment is done by a body called the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC). Before we start talking about this process, let us discuss the required papers and the cost of this step. If you are facing any problem in obtaining the approved English language certificate for immigration and preparing immigration papers, contact our office, the office of Dr. Ahmed Yassin.

To evaluate the pharmacy profession in Australia, the following papers must be submitted, taking into account that the applicant’s name must match the English language with the passport:

  • Passport Sari: A valid photo for at least 6 months from the date of submission.
  • Graduation certificate: A certified copy of the university certificate in English, and if it is in Arabic, it must be translated in an accredited translation office and attached to the certificate in a PDF file.
  • Statement of grades and estimatesAcademic Transcript: For those who have completed two years of pharmacy preparation, they must submit a degree certificate for the first year and accompany it with a degree certificate for the remaining four years.
  • License to practice the profession: It is extracted from the Ministry of Health or the applicant’s union.
  • Identity card (+ its translation) and birth certificate (+ its translation).
  • Certificate of good conduct in English from the union, personal photo.
  • College list: The college's method for calculating grades must be provided if it is not found on the grade certificate.

Additional papers are sometimes required, and originals and copies of papers must always be brought. The cost of this step is 1,310 Australian dollars in 2022, and varies in subsequent years. Updates can be followed via Official Website.

There are many certified translation offices where you can easily communicate with them via the WhatsApp application. I tried my translation at the Al-Nadouri and Al-Nahhas office on Sultan Hussein Street in Alexandria, as well as at the Neama office in the same city, and at the British Translation Office also in Alexandria, and in Cairo, you can go to the office Fadel Fawzy or St. George office.

When translating, the original and the translation must be attached together in one file. When requesting good conduct, it is directed to the concerned authority without special guidance. It is emphasized that no experience paper or request for experience evaluation by the APC is to be submitted.

It does not require preparing a CV or translating Eagle seals, and there is no need to authenticate any paper from any party before submitting it. In addition, it is recommended not to create an APC account until all documents are prepared and uploaded, after scanning all documents at a resolution of 600 dots per inch (DPI) and converting them to JPG format.

It is noteworthy that this step has no expiration date, and can only be taken once, unlike the KAPS exam, which we will talk about in the next section, which has a validity of only 3 years.
